Zootopia

The best animated film of the year is currently streaming on Netflix. If you have not seen Zootopia yet, what are you waiting for? This is a charming and delightful film for adults and children alike. It is also one of the best allegories for racism in our culture as it tackles our societies inherent prejudice towards different races with cute and cuddly CGI animals. Much like Pixar’s Inside Out (2015) was about our internal conflicts and how our emotions change as we grow, Zootopia had thought provoking ideas about how we need to overcome stereotypes with tolerance and acceptance of all races. It also built a whole new world with beautifully intricate details. Zootopia educated us without ever feeling too preachy and transported us to a place we had never been before and was a lot of fun to inhabit. Zootopia was successful in everything a great movie should do, and hopefully it will be successful this Sunday at the Oscars and win Best Animated Feature.

Zootopia is currently available to stream on Netflix.
